-He was the virgin-born Son of God, making him both God & man.
See Matthew 1:18-25, Romans 1:1-4, Philippians 2:5-7
-He is the only human who never sinned nor even had a tendency to sin because He had God’s holy nature.
See Acts 3:13-14, I Peter 2:21-24
-He died on the cross, shedding His innocent blood to pay the penalty for all the sins of all mankind.
See Romans 5:8-9, I John 1:7, 2:2
-He came back to life on the third day after his death and was seen by many witnesses.
See Acts 1:1-4, I Corinthians 15:1-8
-He ascended to heaven where He now prays for and prepares for His people who He will come back to get so they may live with Him forever.
See John 14:2-3, Romans 8:34, I Thessalonians 4:13-18
-Man should admit to God and to himself that he is a sinner by nature and by repeated actions.
I John 1:8-10 – “ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
-Man should realize the result of sin is death.
James 1:15 says ...”sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” Romans 6:23 tells us ”the wages of sin is death.”
-Man should realize God’s wrath (or anger) is directed at him because of sin.
Ephesians 5:6 – “Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. “
This is especially true of the sin of unbelief in His Son, the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
John 3:36 – “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
-After a person admits he or she is a sinner under the wrath of God, the only requirement of salvation is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Acts 16:31 – “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.”
John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
-With such a great salvation so simply offered, what keeps so many from accepting it? One of the main obstacles to salvation is one’s own failure to repent or turn to God who freely offers eternal life.
Jesus said in Luke 13:3 “except ye repent ye shall all likewise perish.”
The apostles said in Acts 11:18 “then hath God…granted repentance unto life.”
Paul preached in Acts 26:20 “they should repent and turn to God.”
Peter said in 2 Peter 3:9 “the Lord is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
